3 is one of the leading mobile broadband providers in UK and has been delivering excellent services for a long time now. The supplier has come up with new cut-price EU roaming rates. This plan allows the users to enjoy worldwide roaming at cheaper prices. The service provider assures lowest roaming rates per MB in comparison to other suppliers. While in Europe, the internet access via mobile phone or mobile broadband dongle costs you £1.25 per MB and according to 3, this is well below the cap outlined by the new European regulation. Now, any call to UK or any other EU country from the EU costs the users 34p per minute and the text messages to UK or any other EU country cost 11p. Apart from this, the received calls cost you 15p per minute. The new rules implemented by the European Commission allows the users to enjoy low rate services. The mobile phone and the mobile broadband operators assist the users with fairly cheaper prices to ensure affordable bills. This plan has made it possible for all Europeans to make calls or send text messages through their mobile phones with much ease, thanks to EU’s single market without borders. The earlier practice of roaming-rip off is no more active and for that the credit goes to European Commission, commented Viviane Reding, EU Telecoms Commissioner. This rule also directs the providers to cut off customer’s bill automatically once it reaches €50 (£42), but for this to happen actually, the users will have to wait for the next year. According to John Eccleston who works as a head of communication and mobile products at 3 UK, believes that the users should get the best possible services. He advocates for more advantages which allows the customers to stay connected with the other people and that too at the most reasonable roaming rates. Moreover, he underlines the importance of internet and guarantees easy call making and internet access at any point of time. Though the proposed plan has given a new dimension to the roaming rates but still Michael Phillips, BroadbandChoices.co.uk product director, is not much convinced about it. He doubts whether the £1.25 per MB is suitable for customers or not. But he also suggests the users to keep a check on their usage to ensure low bills. He advises the use of broadband download monitor which allows the users to keep a track of downloading limits.
